This trick was best performed by two helpers, one boy , one girl, and they should be friends.

Tell your friend to choose 5 cards. The cards chosen must be cut into halves. Seperate the two piles of half-cards, one face up, one face down. Tell your friend to move one top half-card to the bottom of the deck. She can pick any deck. She should do three more times, explain to her there were 4 letters in "GIRL". Now, tell her to pick one top half card and another one top half card from the other deck and put them on the table, one face up, one face down.

You yourself also take another deck of the top half card to the bottom of the deck. You should do it two more times. Explain that there are three letters in "BOY". Also, take one top half card and another top half card from the other deck and put them on the table. one face up, one face down.

Now, your friend should pick up her deck of cards and move the top half card to the bottom of the deck. She should do this 5 times and explain to her there are 5 letters in "WOMAN". Pick 1 top card from her deck and another 1 top card from the other deck. 1 face up, 1 face down.

Again, it's your turn, move 1 top card from your deck to the bottom of the deck. Do this 3 times, explain there are 3 letters in "MAN". Again, move 1 top card from your deck and another 1 top card from the other deck, 1 face up, 1 face down.

Now, both of you left one top half-card in each other's hands. Flip up the half-cards and you will find them match each other! Do the same to the other half-cards and you will find the results are same!
